Man accused of stealing North Carolina school’s tools

Durham, NC, United States (4E) – A 52-year-old man from Durham, North Carolina has been detained Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a school’s storage building and taking some tools.

According to police, Ricky Wayne Acrey was arrested around 9:30 a.m. along the intersection of Holloway Street and Raynor Street and was charged with breaking into an Agape Corner School property.

School officials informed officers around 8:30 a.m. Saturday that they discovered the storage shed had been broken into and $2,500 worth of tools used by students at the school were missing.

Acrey is facing charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and obtaining property by false pretense.

One saw has been recovered by authorities, but the other items have not been located.
