Athens, GA, United States (4E Sports) – The Georgia Bulldogs received a No. 3 ranking, only behind No. 1 Notre Dame and Alabama.

This places the team in a good spot to vie for the national championships by beating Georgia Tech, and then Alabama in the Southeastern Conference Championship game on Dec. 1.

It will face either Notre Dame or Florida.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish would clinch a spot in the title game by beating Southern California next week.

A Notre Dame loss could give Florida the chance to reach the national championship game by beating No. 10 Florida State.

Georgia had to overturn a 35-7 loss to South Carolina in week six to get a high BCS ranking.

A 5-time titlist, Georgia last won the national championship in 1980, beating Notre Dame 17-10 in the final.
