Oklahoma City, OK, United States (4E Sports) – The National Basketball Association is conducting an investigation on an alleged off-the-court scuffle between Zach Randolph and Kendrick Perkins right after the two bruisers were ejected in Wednesday’s game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Game officials ejected Randolph and Perkins off the court after the two traded verbal barbs in the winding minutes of Grizz’s 107-97 road win against the Thunder.
There are reports the tension even escalated when altercation between Z-Bo and Perkins broke loose in a hallway near the locker rooms.
However, the Oklahoman newspaper and the Memphis Commercial Appeal stated no altercations took place and even called it a ‘playground stupid act.’
“Both players tried to get to each other but security prevented (a) physical altercation.” The newspaper quoted a witness who called it “playground stupid,” stated Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The NBA said it’s investigating the incident and fines or suspensions could be imposed once they found out the players violating its ethical rules and regulations.
