Freshman hotshot T.J. Warren leads NC State past Penn State

Bayamon, Puerto Rico (4E Sports) – T.J Warren chalked up 22 points and 8 boards and the North Carolina State Wolfpack rolled on to a 72-55 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions Thursday afternoon Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic game at Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
The Wolfpack continued to turn more heads in the young season after blasting a solid Nittany Lions squad outside the United States.
Warren, a 6-foot-8 freshman winger, Led the offensive charge for the hot shooting North Carolina that shot 26-for-52 from the field and 8-for-16 from beyond the three-point line.
The Wolfpack controlled everything from the start, jumping out to a 19-12 lead through the first 10 minutes before ending the first half with a 35-26 advantage.
NC State sustained the same swagger in the second half as Warren, CJ Leslie and Rodney Purvis took their turns against a listless Lions defense.
Senior guard Tim Frazier scored a game-high 23 points for Penn State, which shot a mediocre 31.7 percent on the floor.
After two solid victories, North Carolina will stake its unblemished record against the winner of Providence and UMass.
