Miami, FL, United States (4E) – A 29-year-old mother and her two young daughters were found dead in their home in Florida Tuesday.

According to Miami-Dade police, a neighbor discovered the bodies of Gladys Machado and her children, eight-year-old Julia Padrino and four-year-old Daniela Padrino inside a closet of the home located in Flagami.

Detective Roy Rutland said that a neighbor, who had access to the house, checked to investigate the foul odor coming from the residence at around 2.30 p.m.

Friends and neighbors assembled Tuesday in front of house where the victims lived. The children’s father, Michael Padrino, was also present.

Machado also have a 6-year-old son, Michael, but he was not there Tuesday night.

Padrino said his son was with his grandmother when the three bodies were found. He refused to talk to reporters.

His girlfriend, who was unnamed, said Padrino and Machado had a distant relationship.

Olga Cecilia Espinoza, whose children attended the same school with Machado’s children, depicted the mother as a talkative and friendly woman who was devoted to her kids.

Espinoza attempted to contact Machado about 10 p.m. Friday but did not get a reply.

Hours earlier, Machado posted a message to Facebook stating: “Where this road goes no one knows.”

Reports said Machado was living with a man who was recently released from jail.

Police announced they are looking for a person of interest in connection with the killings, but no name or description of the suspect were released.
