Bellville, TX, United States (4E) – A Special Weapons and Tactics team standoff ended early Wednesday in a store in Bellville, Texas after police detained three men.

Police said an alarm sounded inside a Brookeshire Brothers grocery store South Front Street around 3 a.m. The company that monitors the store’s video feed informed police that three men, probably armed, were moving inside.

Officers responded and found two men inside in the pharmacy stealing some drugs.

When the men declined to come out, the SWAT team took over and the suspects eventually gave up.

Police said all three were from Houston and were not armed.

One of the men who got sick from consuming something in the store’s pharmacy, was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The men used crow bars and sledge hammers to break in, and police believed their target was the store’s safe.
