Expect Delays Today on Route 26 near I-80 in Centre County

BELLEFONTE –PennDOT alerts drivers to expect delays today on Route 26 in the area of the Bellefonte/161 interchange of I-80. Crews are continuing preservation work on the bridges spanning I-80 in this area. Route 26 near the 161 interchange will be reduced to a single lane, with an alternating traffic pattern through most of the day Wednesday.

The alternating traffic pattern will be enforced by flaggers and travel delays will cause back-ups on Route 26. Drivers should plan for extra travel time and be prepared for stopped or slowed traffic through the area.  

HRI Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $3.2 million bridge rehabilitation project. PennDOT reminds drivers to proceed with caution through all construction zones and always buckle up.
