RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 55-year-old Falls Creek man sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Altoona Hospital after a motorcycle accident that occurred at 3:10 p.m. Sunday on the Tyrone Pike in Rush Township.

The Philipsburg-based state police identified the man as Michael B. Ellenberger, 55, of Falls Creek. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident. Moshannon Valley emergency medical services transported him for treatment.

Ellenberger was traveling northbound on the Tyrone Pike when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. He exited the roadway via the eastern berm, striking an embankment. His motorcycle came to a final rest on its left side, facing east.

Ellenberger’s motorcycle was towed from the scene. State police were assisted at the scene by the Sandy Ridge Volunteer Fire Company and Moshannon Valley EMS. Ellenberger will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
