Cincinnati, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Jeff Robinson chalked up 17 points and 8 rebounds and Travis Taylor added 15 points and the Xavier Musketeers pummeled the Butler Bulldogs, 62-47, Sunday at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers cruised to their second straight win, using great ball movement for high percentage baskets and a tough defense.
Xavier controlled the pace from the get-go as they clearly outperformed and outhustled the seemingly listless Butler team.
The Musketeers finished the first half with a 36-29 lead and they never looked back as Robinson and Taylor led the charge in the second half to secure another win at home.
Freshman Kellen Dunham scored a team-high 11 points off the bench for Butler, which shot 36.5 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Xavier shot a staggering 50 percent on the floor sand 64.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Xavier next takes on the Robert Morris Colonials on Nov.17, Pacific Tigers on Nov. 22 before hitting the road vs. the Purdue Boilermakers on Dec.1.
