James H. Martin Jr., 66, of Falls Creek died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 15, 1946 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, he was the son of the late James H. Martin, Sr. and Ruth E. (Fuller) Martin.
On Nov. 11, 1965, he married Donna Jean (Denton) Martin. She survives.
Mr. Martin worked alongside his two sons, Brian and Blaine, and his son-in-law, Doug at their business, Granite Expressions, since its inception. Previous to that, he worked for many years at the Crescent Brick Company in Falls Creek until its closing.
He was a past member of the Local Steel Workers Union, where he had served secretary. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite thing to do was sitting on his porch with his dog.
He is survived by five children, Cathy Crytser and her husband, Steven of Moon Township; Carrie Veitz and her husband, “Big Jim” of Reynoldsville; Brian Martin and his wife, Tina of DuBois; Courtney Carney and her husband, Doug of DuBois; and Blaine Martin of Falls Creek; and 13 grandchildren, Gabriel and Samantha Crytser; Ashley, Amber and Amanda Lawson; Vinnie Veitz; Brittany Martin; and Cody, D.J., Blaise, Jasmine, Ariel and Adrieanna Carney.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey A. Martin and his brother, Richard Martin.
At Mr. Martin’s request, there will private visitation and funeral services at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Sherwood officiating.
Burial will be in the Desire Cemetery.
