Washington, DC, United States (4E) – Thieves prowling a downtown community Friday morning some distance from the White House fired a shot but no injuries were reported.

Authorities said police are searching for four suspects allegedly involved in an attempted robbery in northwest Washington, D.C. after gunfire erupted near the White House.

The four males, all armed and dangerous, were seen driving a silver or white Lincoln with D.C. tags: EC0424.

It was reported that the incident started when the muggers tried to rob several people along Dupont Circle just after 6:00 a.m.

Police claimed that one of the robbery victims followed the suspect in the direction of Lafayette Square, just a few blocks from the White House.

Shots were fired but nobody was hit and it is still unclear if it happened while the victim was running after the suspects.

The victims allegedly reported the incident to two Secret Service officers, who informed the police.

Nobody was arrested and investigation is ongoing.
