WJAC-TV: Inmate Scheduled for Execution at SCI-Rockview

ROCKVIEW – An inmate is scheduled to be executed at 7 p.m. tonight at the State Correctional Institution at Rockview in Centre County.
Hubert Michael, 56, will receive a lethal injection at a field hospital set up outside of SCI-Rockview unless the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia approves one of two requests for stay.
On Wednesday, a federal court in Harrisburg rejected the same requests and the state pardons board voted not to grant Michael clemency. Michael’s attorneys said they won’t seek another clemency hearing.
About 19 years ago, Michael pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a teenage girl.
