CLEARFIELD – A 28-year-old Brooklyn, NY man, Edward L. Baldwin, has been accused of recklessly endangering another person after Clearfield Borough police investigated a tractor-trailer accident on Bigler Avenue.

Baldwin lost control of his tractor-trailer and traveled off the roadway into a ditch.  During the investigation, he told police that another person was the operator, and they’d left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police determined Baldwin provided a false statement, as the man who he alleged as the operator is currently incarcerated. Baldwin did not possess a valid license for operating the tractor-trailer.

Baldwin was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins.  His bail was set at $25,000. He could not post bail and is incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail.

Folmar Towing assisted at the scene.
