Bobby Petrino eyes Kentucky football coaching job
Louisville, KY, United States (4E Sports) – Bobby Petrino wants to coach University of Kentucky, according to his father.
“He wants to stay in the SEC. That was his life’s goal was to go to the SEC,” Bobby Petrino Sr told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
According to Petrino Sr., the younger Petrino missed his job tremendously and it’s not about money.
He added that his son couldn’t have gone through any punishment worse than losing his job.
The Kentucky coaching job became available after it was announced Sunday that Joker Phillips would not return next season.
However, Yahoo Sports! reported the same day the Wildcats would not consider hiring Petrino.
Petrino was fired by fellow SEC school Arkansas in April after a motorcycle accident led to a revelation of an affair with his 25-year-old passenger who worked for him.
Petrino lost $21 million in potential earnings and what he called his “dream job.”
