London, England, United Kingdom (4E Sports) – Paul Bisonette of NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes will play for Cardiff Devils of the Elite Ice Hockey League.

The 27-year-old Canadian was looking to play outside the NHL as players remain locked out. He replaces Jamie Milam, who was released by head coach Gerad Adams.

Bissonette will fly into the United Kingdom as soon as possible and may get to play this weekend.

Cardiff will go up against Braehead Clan in Glasgow tomorrow and then take on Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday. The 6’3″ enforcer can utilized on defence or as a power forward.

He has appeared in 135 NHL matches for Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins. He has also played in the American Hockey League for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and in the East Coast League for Wheeling Nailers.

The Devils announced the signing before the start of their Challenge Cup clash with Hull Stingrays at Cardiff Bay Arena last night.
