Cupertino, CA, United States (4E) – In its recent annual financial report, Apple posted impressive numbers. The data shown by Apple shows how much the company grew in over a year. Apple had 60, 400 employees when it reported its 10-K report last year. It has now grown to 72, 800 employees over the last 12 months. That jump in number of employees is reflective of the increase of Apple’s retail stores.

Apple added 33 more retail stores since last year, which brings the total to 390 retail stores. 140 of those Apple stores are outside of the United States.

The number of Apple retail store employees working last year was 36, 000. It has since grown to 42,000. The average revenue per retail store was $43.3 million a year ago and it has since increased to $51.5 million.

Given the introduction of the new iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 and 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina screen, Apple has allocated more money to research and development. The company added $1 billion to R & D, which brings the total allocation to $3.4 billion.

A year ago, Apple reported net sales of $48 billion. In its recent report, the Cupertino-based company showed it increase to $156 billion.
