King of Prussia, PA, United States (4E) – The 10-month-old infant from Pennsylvania who disappeared a few days ago, was found dead Friday morning, and a family friend has been taken in custody and charged in her and her grandmother’s killings.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman said that the body of Saanvi Venna was discovered at the basement area of the King of Prussia apartment where she was abducted after the suspect, Raghu Yandamuri, stabbed her grandmother to death.

Officials reported that Yandamuri has also been accused robbery, kidnapping, abuse of a corpse and theft.

The suspect had planned to kidnap the child and hold her for ransom, revealed Ferman.

She said that “we believe the initial effort was to kidnap the child, not to commit the killings, but that changed very quickly.”

According to court documents, the grandmother struggled with the kidnapper, which resulting in offensive and defensive knife wounds.

After killing the grandmother, the suspect then gagged the child, wrapped a towel around her, and hid her in a suitcase.

It was divulged that ten copies of a ransom note asking for $50,000 were left behind after the infant was taken.

Ferman said the baby has been suffocated with a handkerchief in her mouth. Her body was hidden in a sauna in the basement of the apartment complex where the baby’s family and the suspect both lived.

Yandamuri reportedly helped the family during the search for the baby, even attending a vigil and handing out fliers.

The body of Saanvi’s grandmother is expected to be brought to India by family. She came to the U.S. last July for a visit and was scheduled to return home in January.
