Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Jackie Robinson’s daughter, Sharon Robinson, will join the Dodgers’ board of directors.
She would be representing her family and the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
In return, Sharon said the Dodgers’ new owners would select a representative to serve on the board of the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
The development will serve to strengthen the Dodgers ties with Jackie Robinson.
But Sharon also hopes the team’s involvement with the foundation will help secure funding for additional college scholarships and for a Jackie Robinson Museum in New York.
“We don’t see it as a sports museum,” she said. “We see it as a civil rights museum.”
The Dodgers declined to comment as several details still to be finalized.
