Madison, WI, United States (4E Sports) – Wisconsin Badgers point guard Josh Gasser will miss the 2012-2013 college men’s basketball season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Saturday’s practice.
Gasser, averaging 6.8 points and four boards per game in two seasons, was expected to assume the starting point guard role for the Badgers.
The fleet-footed guard has shot 45 percent beyond the three-point in his career. Gasser is expected to redshirt this season and will have two more years of eligibility.
Gasser is scheduled for rehabilitation next week before undergoing surgery.
