California man accused of stuffing girlfriend’s body in suitcase back in U.S.

Riverside County, CA, United States (4E) – A 28-year-old man from Riverside County, California who allegedly killed his girlfriend then crammed her body into a suitcase has been deported Wednesday to the United States after being arrested in Mexico on Tuesday night.
According to authorities, Joseph Dorsey has been charged with strangling his 47-year-old girlfriend Christine Stewart, of Canyon Lake, and hiding her body in a 3-foot-long suitcase.
The suitcase was discovered in a San Diego County motel room in August, two days after Stewart disappeared.
Dorsey was caught by Mexican police near Rosarito Beach on Tuesday afternoon. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been closely working with the Mexican government on the case.
The suspect will remain in custody at the Riverside County to face felony charges including murder.
Dorsey has been convicted of attempted burglary in July and was also charged with assaulting a police officer in 2006.
