Brooklyn, NY, United States (4E Sports) – The Brooklyn Nets are going to get a housemate soon in the New York Islanders.

The Islanders announced that they will be moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., for the 2015-16 season at a Wednesday press conference.

The team’s current lease with Nassau Coliseum, on Long Island runs out after the 2014-15 NHL season.

Islanders owner Charles Wang made the announcement as he opened the press conference by saying ”Hello, Brooklyn!”

The lease agreement is for 25 years.

Wang had been threatening to move the team for some time and he had repeatedly complained that Nassau Coliseum was no longer suitable for a professional sports team.
