South Carolina authorities investigate suspicious death on Folly Beach

Folly Beach, SC, United States (4E) – Authorities are investigating the death of the man whose body was discovered early Sunday by a couple on Folly Beach in South Carolina.

Folly Beach Public Safety officials reported that a man and a woman who were taking a morning walk near the East 6th Street beach area saw a man they thought was drunk and laying in an “uncomfortable position” next to a log behind 605 East Arctic Avenue.

The couple alerted police after they failed to awaken him.

Officers who responded to the scene said that that the man’s body was pale and blue, and there was a puddle of dried red fluid beneath his nose and his mouth.

The body, which has not been identified, was brought to Medical University of South Carolina for an autopsy.
