Brockton, MA, United States (4E) – The Massachusetts police have taken in custody Saturday a 31-year-old woman who is suspected in a series of bank robberies at various supermarkets in three towns.

According to authorities, Kerri Ann Heffernan from Bridgewater, was arrested after being interviewed by police who revealed that they have surveillance footage of the suspect while in the act of robbing two Citizens Bank branches at Stop & Shop stores in Brockton on Saturday, that happened less than 30 minutes apart.

Heffernan is facing charges of armed and masked robbery, armed assault to rob and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police believe that additional charges are also expected because she has been connected to similar robberies that occurred in Whitman on Friday and in Stoughton last month.

During the theft at Whitman, the woman gave the bank teller a note stating she had a gun and demanded all the bank’s money.

Items confiscated from the suspect included a 2011 Hyundai Elantra, cash, cellphone, clothing and articles covered in red dye.

The stolen money was discovered by police in a nearby parking area, damaged by the dye pack.

Police have not recovered the firearm that the woman used in the robberies.

Heffernan is scheduled to be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Monday.
