Area Businesses to Benefit from Media Auction
CLEARFIELD – More than 30, different media packages will be auctioned off during the first-ever media auction hosted by the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce. The auction is set for Nov. 14 at the Lock Haven University Clearfield Campus.
The auction will present opportunities for area businesses and organizations to purchase marketing and advertising at reduced rates. The official advertising packet will be available for business owners and marketing managers within the coming week.
All media packages will start at approximately 10 percent of the original retail value. Businesses and organizations of any size are encouraged to participate and to explore different advertising mediums. The media packages will range in price from $100 to $2,500 in retail value.
The auction will not only feature media packages from local mediums, but also outlets from outside the county, such as Pittsburgh and nationwide. It’ll include numerous radio, television, online and print outlets, as well as many more advertising companies.
Some of these packages will be from ABC23/Fox 8, GantDaily.com, Action Graphics, Pittsburgh City Paper, Where & When PA Travel Guide, WJAC-TV, The Progress, Graham Signs, wOK!w and many more. These businesses and organizations have donated packages for the enhancement of company advertising and marketing plans.
Attendees will have the opportunity to preview the offerings during a social hour after which an auction will be held for the various packages. Attendees will hear from each business that has donated an advertising package the night of the event before their business package is auctioned off.
The Chamber believes the event will provide an alternative method for businesses and organizations to reduce costs in their 2013 marketing and advertising budgets. Even if the business or organization’s advertising budget is small, they’re still encouraged to attend. Each package is different in pricing and can fit into anyone’s promotional budget.
Those attending the event are encouraged to arrive at 4 p.m. for the social hour with light refreshments. The auction will begin at 5 p.m. featuring auctioneer Pat Errigo. There isn’t any fee for chamber members to attend the auction. It’s $10 per business for non-chamber members.
Each business in attendance will receive one number for bidding. Methods of payment will be check or cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or a business can be invoiced.
