Raptors edge Wizards in Kyle Lowry’s debut

Washington DC, DC, United States (4E Sports) – Landry Fields scored 15 points and Kyle Lowry debuted with 14 points and six dimes as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Washington Wizards, 104-101, in Wednesday’s preseason game at Air Canada Center.

For the first time this preseason, the Raptors unveiled their newest court general and Lowry rose to the occasion.

Lowry played 25 quality minutes in his first game with the Raptors while Jose Calderon was a solid backup at the point with 12 points and 8 assists.

Rookie center Jonas Valanciunas racked up 8 points, 8 boards and 3 blocks for the Raptors, who closed strong to take their third win in four preseason assignments.

Trevor Booker scored a team-high 12 points for the Wizards, who decided not to play point guard John Wall. Rookie shooting guard Bradly Beal scored 11 points on 3-for-8 shooting.
