Alberta, Canada (4E) – Pop star Justin Bieber has just proved he is more than a swaggering teen star by taking a break from his pop star life to visit a cancer-stricken fan in a hospital in Alberta over the weekend.
Bieber went to visit 18-year-old cancer patient and Belieber Crystal Montgomery Tuesday after his attention was caught by a Facebook post requesting him to visit the girl, who has long dreamed of seeing the pop star in person.
The Facebook post, written Saturday by Montgomery’s best friend saying, “Right now you’re in the same province I am living in, Alberta…my best friend Crystal Amber Montgomery was diagnosed with the cancer osteosarcoma in her left shoulder…[we] have contacted every radio station in Edmonton, newspaper and TV station with barely any replies to help me in my quest to help Crystal achieve her dream of meeting you.”
The doting best friend then went on to write, “I know that this is almost impossible, but you’re the one who says to believe. So here I am believing. It would mean the world to Crystal if you stopped even 5 minutes to see her, since she is too sick to leave the hospital and attend the concert like her and I had originally planned. She is one of your biggest fans, even having your poster in her hospital room. She has followed your music since you were an artist on Youtube, and is one of the first person I know to listen to your new singles and watch your music videos. All we want is for Crystal to remain strong, and with her idol coming to see her I cannot even imagine the inspiration it will bring her.”
What an impact the post must have brought upon Bieber because shortly after that, the pop star posted on Twitter, “now off to do something that matters. #giveback”
He apparently went to the hospital for Montgomery, because afterwards, Bieber then posted an Instagram photo of him and his fan hashtagged, “#bieberforcrystal”
Bieber followed it up with a gratuitous tweet, “Thanks to the fans for always pointing me on the right path. #giveback”
