State Police Investigating Hit-and-run Accident in Boggs Township

BOGGS TOWNSHIP – The Clearfield-based state police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. this morning on the Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township.

A 2002 Subaru Outback station wagon was traveling eastbound when its operator lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the south shoulder for approximately 135 feet, where it struck a utility pole.

After impact, the vehicle traveled approximately 24 feet and came to a rest approximately six feet off the south shoulder of the Old Erie Pike. The operator fled the scene prior to police arrival.
