San Martin, CA, United States (4E Sports) – Jonas Blixt made a four-foot par putt on the last hole Sunday to win the Frys.com Open for his first PGA Tour title.
The Swede became third PGA Tour rookie to win this season and earned $900,000 for the win. He finished with a 3-under-par 68 on Sunday for a winning total of 16-under 268 total.
Tim Petrovic (64) and Jason Kokrak (68) tied for second.
Blixt came through with late birdies at the par-5 15th and par-4 17th to take the lead and he held on at 18 with a par.
Third-round leader John Mallinger managed only a 72 to tie for fourth at 14 under with Jimmy Walker (62), Vijay Singh (68) and Alexandre Rocha (68).
Blixt started the day two shots behind Mallinger. Blixt, who was making his 19th PGA Tour start, also finished third last week in Las Vegas.
John Huh at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in February and Ted Potter Jr. at The Greenbrier Classic in July are the only other rookie winners this season on the PGA Tour.
