Raptors finish strong, topple Pistons in preseason battle

Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – DeMar DeRozan scored 14 points and rookie center Jonas Valanciunas recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds as the Toronto Raptors roared past the Detroit Pistons, 82-75, in an exhibition game Friday at Air Canada.

Coming off a 101-99 loss in Detroit on Wednesday, the Raptors exacted their revenge against the Pistons on their home floor.

DeRozan and Valanciunas led the offensive attack but guard Jay Lucas III tallied a better statistical line with 9 points and 8 assists.

Rodney Stuckey scored 14 points on 4-for-11 shooting for the Pistons, who shot just 39 percent from the field. Rookie center Viacheslav Kravtsov scored 10 points in his first NBA game with the Pistons.

Trailing 68-67 with 4:04 minutes left, the Raptors closed it on 15-7 blast to take their second preseason victory in three games.
