Shanghai, China (4E Sports) – Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic foiled their respective opponents in straight sets to arrange another finals showdown at the 2012 Shanghai Masters Saturday at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena.
Murray continued his superiority over Roger Federer, defeating the Swiss Master 6-4, 6-4 in their duel on the hard court.
Murray, the 2012 London Olympics and US Open champion, shattered Federer’s seamless game with powerful serves and several beautiful winners.
With the victory, the no.3 rank Briton has once again narrowed the gap between him Federer and could even rack up more points this weekend if he can beat Djokovic for the second straight time.
Djokovic eased through his semifinals match against Tomas Berdych, 6-3, 6-4 to set up a rematch of their epic US Open battle weeks ago in Flushing Meadows.
Meanwhile, Victoria Azarenka moved another step towards capturing another singles crown this season after disposing of Irina-Camelia Begu 6-1, 6-1 in their semifinals match at the 2012 Generali Ladies Linz.
Azarenka will take on Germany’s Julia Görges, who rallied past Belgium’s Kirsten Flipkens 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
