Washington, DC, United States (4E) – Nearly a month after assassins killed Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi, the United States on Thursday appointed Laurence Pope as country’s new envoy to Libya.
In a statement, Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said that Pope has already arrived in Libya where the U.S. would continue to help Libya in building democratic institutions despite the assault on the American consulate that killed four Americans last month.
Meanwhile, Washington has been calling on Libya to find and hold people responsible for Sept 11 Benghazi attacks.
