Denver, CO, United States (4E) – Police discovered Wednesday an unidentified body in a park in Arvada, Colorado, a few miles from where 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway was last spotted before she disappeared last week.
According to authorities, they are investigating the Pattridge Park crime scene where the body, which is not intact, were found and they ruled out its connection to the girl who has been missing since October 5.
Police reported that they have received tips from New Hampshire and Main, and in another three states, regarding the blonde fifth-grader who disappeared on the way to school.
The search was expanded this weekend after the little girl’s backpack and water bottle were found in the town of Superior.
Officials also examined the snatching of an 11-year-old girl from Cody, Wyoming which is around 500 miles away. She was found after four hours and investigators are looking for a man who attempted to coax the child into a sport utility vehicle saying that he needed help to find his lost puppy.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that the two child abduction investigations, one in Colorado and one in Wyoming, currently appeared to be not related.
Police said that Jessica’s parents, the mother, Sarah Ridgeway from Colorado, and the father, Jeremiah Bryant, of Missouri are cooperating with the investigators and said that an outsider could have grabbed the girl.
