Marie A. Metalonis, 91, formerly of DuBois, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Feb. 16, 1921 in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late Martin A. and Marjorie A. (Belin) Romanak. On May 18, 1946, she married Joseph G. Metalonis. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1988.
She worked at B.F. Goodrich in DuBois for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Christ the King Manor Auxiliary and the Blue Army. She was a past member of the Knights of Lithuanian Council #86, the Ladies of St. Joseph and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed playing cards and eating out.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa C. Barraclough of DuBois and Mary Jo Hazlett and her husband, Stanley of Springdale; a brother, Martin Romanak of Northfield Center, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Metalonis; her brother, Edward Romanak; and her son-in-law, William R. Barraclough.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
