Miami, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade is close to reaching his tip-top shape after undergoing a knee surgery last summer, a league insider reported Tuesday.
According to the source, Wade has already participated in the Heat’s full training camp practices for two consecutive days and is expected to play more than one preseason games.
“I will try a preseason game,” Wade told ESPN Monday “At least one. But it will be more than one. It won’t be (all) eight. But it will be more than one. If I keep progressing the way I’m progressing, I will try a few.”
Wade, who’s reportedly close to signing a landmark deal with a Chinese shoe brand, will also likely join the Heat as they travel to China for two preseason games against the Los Angeles Clippers next week.
Wade struggled with injuries last season but still averaged 22.1 points, 4.8 boards, and 4.6 dimes per game. He underwent fluid-draining procedure in his left knee days before the playoffs and played through the pain on his way to capturing his second NBA title and first since teaming up with LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
