Atlanta, GA, United States (4E Sports) – Tamika Catchings chalked up 25 points and 13 boards and Briann January added 24 points and 7 dimes as the Indiana Fever crushed the Atlanta Dream, 103-88, to force a deciding game in their Eastern Conference finals series Saturday at Philips Arena.
With their backs against the wall, the second-seeded Fever played well from start to finish as they relied heavily on their two best performers throughout the offseason.
January went 10-for-17 on the floor to boost the Fever rally, particularly in the second half.
Leading by just a precarious two points 47-45 at the break, the Fever broke loose in the third quarter with January scoring 11 of her 24 points in the period.
The Fever took a 13-point margin into the final period, enough to put the Dream away for good.
Angel McCoughtry racked up 22 points, 6 boards and 5 dimes for the Dream, who are locked in a do-or-die game against the Fever Tuesday.
