Brooklyn, NY, United States (NewsBahn) – Who better to open up the Brooklyn Nets new home than part-owner and rap star Jay-Z.

He did just that Friday with the first of eight sold-out concerts he will hold at Barclays Center, where he also showed off the Nets new gear for the first time.

The team’s city (Brooklyn) will be featured on both its home white and road black jerseys with a “herringbone tape running vertically along the sides, matching the team’s court design,” according to a team press release.

The Nets show off their $1 billion arena on November 1 when they take on their new New York rival, the Knicks.
