Dallas, TX, United States (4E Sports) – Dallas Mavericks center Chris Kaman is reportedly nursing a lower back sprain, which kept him out of practice on the first day of training camp.

The Mavericks said Kaman left the practice facility due to lingering back pain, though the injury is reportedly not that serious.

“We’ll see how he’s doing for tonight and tomorrow and go from there,” Carlisle told ESPN.

The 30-year-old Kaman signed an $8 million, one-year deal with the Mavs after finishing one season with the New Orleans Hornets.

He has career averages of 11.9 points and 8.3 boards. His career highlight was an All-Star appearance in the 2009-2010 season, when he racked up 18.5 points and 9.2 boards per game for the Los Angeles Clippers.
