Clearfield JV Football Team Shuts Out Huntingdon

CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Junior Varsity football team rebounded from their first loss of the season a week ago to shut out the Huntingdon Bearcats on the turf at the Bison Sports Complex.

The Bison began the scoring in the first quarter on a 1-yard barrel into the endzone by quarterback Sawyer Rowles followed by a Josh Sorbera extra point.

In the second quarter, Rowles slithered for 14 yards for his second score, while Sorbera tacked on the PAT for a 14-0 halftime lead.

Rowles and Sorbera connected on a touchdown pass in the third frame to set the final at 20-0. A Jake Wingate interception late in the fourth quarter preserved the Bison shut out.

Jesus Rosa and Rowles both went over the century mark in rushing with 167 and 125 yards respectively.

Clearfield (3-1) will travel to Lock Haven on October 1 to face Central Mountain in their next game.
