Classic film "The Princess Bride" marks 25th anniversary, special screening and cast reunion underway
New York, NY, United States (4E) – Rob Reiner’s classic film “The Princess Bride” marks its 25th anniversary September 25 and will have a special screening at the New York Film Festival and a cast reunion.
The Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that a special 25th anniversary screening of the film will be held on October 2 at the Allice Tully Hall, during this year’s New York Film Festival.
Director Rob Reiner and cast members Billy Crystal, Cary Elwes, Carol Kane, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn and Robin Wright will also be present in the event, and are said to join on a post-screening conversation.
Though not exactly a box-office hit, “The Princess Bride” is considered as one of the films with numerous “quotable quotes” that almost every normal person can relate to.
The 50th New York Film festival will run from September 28 to October 14. For those who would not be able to watch the special screening, “The Princess Bride” will be released on Blu-ray on October 2.
