Philadelphia, PA, United States (4E Sports) – Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid is going to stick with Michael Vick at quarterback. For now.

Reid said Monday that Vick is still the man but also may have started a quarterback watch in Philly with his endorsement.

“Right now,” Reid said. “We’re going with Michael. We’ll evaluate as we go.”

Reid has changed quarterbacks on the fly before and with an edict from the front office that he needs to lead the team deep into the playoffs to stay on the job he passively let Vick know things have to change.

Vick was named the Eagles’ starter early in the 2010 season after Reid had said the day before Kevin Kolb was the starter and would be a “championship-caliber quarterback.”

Vick has thrown six interceptions and lost three fumbles. He did lead the team to fourth-quarter comeback wins in the first two games of the season before a stinker Sunday in Arizona.

Rookie backup Nick Foles would be next in line for the 2-1 Eagles, who host the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants Sunday night.

Vick’s contract calls for a salary of $12.5 million this season and $15.5 million next year.
