Nittany Lions in the NFL – Week Two

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — With 26 Nittany Lions on National Football League rosters, Penn State is well represented in the professional ranks. Each week throughout the year, www.GoPSUsports.com will provide updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats. Top performances from week two of the 2012 season included Sean Lee’s (Dallas) game-high 14 tackles against Seatlle, linebacker Paul Posluszny’s (Jacksonville) nine stops against Houston and Michael Robinson’s (Seattle) superb play on both offense and special teams in a win against the Cowboys.

Navorro Bowman (2007-09), LB, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 27, Detroit 19
Bowman continued his strong play against the Lions, collecting eight tackles (seven solo) as the 49ers improved to 2-0.

Brett Brackett (2007-10), TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston 27, Jacksonville 7
Brackett was placed on injured reserve Sept. 4.

Levi Brown (2003-06), OT, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona 20, New England 18
Brown was placed on injured reserve Aug. 24.

Dan Connor (2004-07), LB, Dallas Cowboys
Seattle 27, Dallas 7
Connor, who also saw action on special teams, made four tackles (three solo) at linebacker in the Cowboys’ loss against the Seahawks.

Jack Crawford (2008-11), DE, Oakland Raiders
Miami 35, Oakland 13
Crawford did not see any action in the Raiders’ loss against the Dolphins.

Robbie Gould (2001-04), K, Chicago Bears
Green Bay 23, Chicago 10
Gould connected on a 45-yard field goal in the third quarter, his only attempt of the game.

Tamba Hali (2002-05), LB, Kansas City Chiefs

Buffalo 35, Kansas City 17

Hali collected three tackles (two solo) in his season debut against the Bills.

Josh Hull (2006-09), LB, St. Louis Rams
St. Louis 31, Washington 28
Hull saw limited action against Washington.

Justin King (2005-07), CB, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis 23, Minnesota 20
King saw limited action against the Vikings.

Dennis Landolt (2007-09), OT, New York Jets
Pittsburgh 27, New York Jets 10
Landolt was inactive against the Steelers.

Sean Lee (2005-07, 2009), LB, Dallas Cowboys
Seattle 27, Dallas 7
Lee led all players with 14 tackles (four solo) against the Seahawks.

Aaron Maybin (2007-08), LB, New York Jets
Pittsburgh 27, New York Jets 10
Maybin saw limited action as part of the linebacker rotation for the Jets.

Jordan Norwood (2005-08), WR, Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati 34, Cleveland 27
Norwood, who is in his second year with the Browns, was inactive against the Bengals.

Jared Odrick (2006-09), DE, Miami Dolphins
Miami 35, Oakland 13
Odrick, who started at left defensive end, registered one tackle against Oakland.

Rich Ohrnberger (2006-08), OL, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona 20, New England 18
Ohrnberger was part of the offensive line rotation in the Cardinals’ win against the Patriots.

Paul Posluszny (2003-06), LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston 27, Jacksonville 7
Posluszny started at middle linebacker and recorded nine solo tackles against Houston.

Andrew Quarless (2006-09), TE, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay 23, Chicago 10
Quarless, who is recovering from a knee injury sustained in Dec. 2011, was placed on the team’s PUP list Aug. 27.

Michael Robinson (2002-05), FB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle 27, Dallas 7
Robinson started the game at fullback and gained six yards on two rushes. He also forced a fumble and made three tackles on special teams.

Evan Royster (2007-10), Washington Redskins
St. Louis 31, Washington 28
Royster caught two passes for seven yards and rushed for four yards on one carry against the Rams.

Bryan Scott (1999-2002), LB, Buffalo Bills
New York Jets 48, Buffalo 28
Scott collected one tackle and recovered a fumble against the Jets.

Tim Shaw (2002, 2004-06), LB, Tennessee Titans
San Diego 38, Tennessee 10
Shaw made one tackle as part of the linebacker rotation for the Titans.

Devon Still (2009-11), DT, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati 34, Cleveland 27
Still was part of the defensive line rotation for the Bengals.

Nate Stupar (2008-11), LB, Oakland Raiders
Miami 35, Oakland 13
Stupar signed with the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad on Sept. 1.

Johnnie Troutman (2009-11), OG, San Diego Chargers
San Diego 38, Tennessee 10
Troutman was placed on the reserve, non-football injury list on Aug. 27.

Cameron Wake (2000, 02-04), DE, Miami Dolphins
Miami 35, Oakland 13
Wake, who started at right defensive end, recorded one tackle against Oakland.

Stefan Wisniewski (2007-10), OL, Oakland Raiders
Miami 35, Oakland 13

Wisniewski started at center in his season debut for the Raiders.
