Clearfield Splits With State College in Fall Ball

STATE COLLEGE — The Clearfield fall baseball team rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 4-2 victory in the nightcap to salvage a split in Sunday’s doubleheader against State College.

After being held to two singles in the opener, Clearfield overcame a 2-1 deficit with its late rally to make Wyatt Westen a winner.

Curtis Collins doubled and drove in three runs.

For State College, Jon Herzing doubled in the first game and Alex Singer homered in the second game.

Clearfield (2-1-1) will play a pair of 1 p.m. home twinbills at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Field next weekend, hosting Moshannon Valley Saturday and Altoona Sunday.
