Toronto, ON, Canada (4E Sports) – The Toronto F.C drew first blood courtesy of a pretty score from Eric Hassli but Sheanon Williams slotted the equalizer with five minutes left in regulation to force a 1-1 draw Saturday at BMO Field.
Philadelphia extended Toronto’s winless misery to nine games, salvaging a draw behind a late goal from Williams in the 85th minute.
After a futile first half, Toronto took a 1-0 edge 17 minutes into the first half after Hassli slotted a goal off a nifty pass from Darren O’Dea.
Toronto appeared to have captured their first three points in league play since July 28 but their defense once again took another big collapse down the stretch.
Antoine Hoppernot fired a low cross to a cutting Williams, who calmly kicked the ball into the back of the net.
Toronto continued to dwell on the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 5-17-7 slate while Philadelphia boasts a 7-13-6 record.
