Hechavarria, Morrow push Blue Jays past hapless Red Sox

Toronto, Canada (4E Sports) – Adeiny Hechavarria hit a home run and Brandon Morrow tossed six shutout innings as the Toronto Blue Jays posted a 5-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox the finale of a three-game series Sunday.
The Blue Jays broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out RBI single by Omar Vizquel. Hechavarria followed with a two-run homer off Jon Lester (9-12), who allowed just one hit over the first six innings.
Morrow scattered four hits with one walk for Toronto, which won for the third time in its last 11 home games. Brandon Lyon (3-2) recorded the final two outs in the seventh inning to earn the win.
Boston was seeking its first three-game winning streak since July 28-31 and had runners at the corners with one out in the eighth before Cody Ross hit into an inning-ending double play.
The Blue Jays extended their lead with two runs in the eighth on RBI singles by Colby Rasmus and Moises Sierra.
Toronto won the season series against Boston for the first time since 2006 with an 11-7 record.
