Clearfield YMCA Offers Group Fitness Program
CLEARFIELD – If you are like many people who are looking to improve their health, get fit or lose weight, going to the gym can be somewhat intimidating.
How do the machines work? What weight should I be lifting? What exercises should I do? The Clearfield YMCA offers just the program you are looking for – Les Mills BODYPUMP.
BODYPUMP is a group fitness class that sculpts and tones as well as strengthens your entire body. Each 60-minute workout challenges all major muscle groups by using weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls.
Classes are taught by certified instructors. The class is open to YMCA members and non-members.
Les Mills BODYPUMP uses the BODYPUMP formula: THE REP EFFECT, a breakthrough in resistance workout training. Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.

“The people in the classes I attend range in age from 20’s to 60’s, men and women. I really like that I can go at my own pace (amount of weight I’m lifting). We are all at different weights but doing the same exercises.
“My instructor, Vanessa Johnson is clear, easy to follow, and more importantly takes the time to answer any questions, help with how much weight to use and is very supportive and encouraging.”
Classes are held from 6:45 p.m. -7:45 p.m. Monday; 6 a.m. -7 a.m. Tuesday; 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Wednesday; 6 a.m. – 7 a.m. Friday (new day that begins in October); and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Saturday.
