Vosters named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Junior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) was named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced Wednesday (Sept. 12). This is the first weekly honor of Vosters career.

Vosters helped the Nittany Lions to a 13th place finish in the Cougar Classic during the team’s first weekend of action of the 2012-13 season. Penn State finished ahead of a few ranked teams, including LSU and South Carolina. Vosters scored a career-best 71 in each of the three rounds of the Cougar Classic to tie for sixth place at 3 under par-72. She posted the best score for the Nittany Lions of 213.

The Nittany Lions are back in action at the Yale Intercollegiate on Sept. 22-23. Penn State returns home to host the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sept. 28-30 at the Penn State Golf Courses.
