Blackhawks sign defenseman Michal Rozsival to one-year deal

Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – The Chicago Blackhawks announced Tuesday that they have signed defenseman Michal Rozsival to a one-year contract.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Rozsival recorded a goal and 12 assists with 34 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating in 54 regular-season games with the Phoenix Coyotes last season.

The 34-year-old with a reputation as a good shot-blocker has made seven postseason appearances and helped the Coyotes reach the Western Conference finals last season.

Originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 1996 draft, Rozsival has appeared in 756 career regular-season games and recorded 64 goals and 196 assists.

In his seven playoff appearances, Rozsival has four goals and 12 assists.
