Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Justin Morneau drove in two runs and Ryan Doumit hit his career-high 16th home run to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 7-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians Monday.
Pedro Florimon had a big game with a double, triple, RBI and two runs scored for the Twins.
Morneau had a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the sixth. He has 14 RBIs in his last 12 games, including 11 in 10 games in September.
Doumit had a solo shot in the eighth as he surpassed his previous season high of 15 homers with Pittsburgh in 2008.
Samuel Deduno (6-3) got the win, allowing two runs and three hits in seven innings. He walked three and had six strikeouts while improving to 2-0 in three starts against Cleveland this season.
Justin Masterson (11-13) yielded six runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to take the loss.
Lonnie Chisenhall had a solo home run for the Indians, who managed just three hits.
Cleveland is 4-5 this month after going 5-24 in August.
