CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Area High School Junior Varsity football team joined the varsity team at 2-0 on the year after holding off the Penns Valley Rams 7-6 Monday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, Clearfield got on the board witha 19-yard scoring pass from Sawyer Rowles to Jake Wingate. Josh Sorbera booted the all-important extra point for the 7-0 lead.
Rowles had set up the touchdown with an interception and 42-yard return to the Ram 14-yard line.
Penns Valley scored a fourth quarter touchdown, but was denied the victory when they missed the 2-point conversion.
Clearfield, 2-0 on the year after beating Philipsburg-Osceola 28-2 in their opener, will travel to play Central Monday September 17.
