William “Billy” K. Beardsley, 77, a lifetime resident of North East, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at his home.
He was born June 19, 1935 to the late Kenneth Beardsley and Velma M. Davis Beardsley Brockman.
He graduated from the North East High School in the class of 1953 and from the GE Apprentice School in Erie.
Mr. Beardsley was formerly employed at General Electric for more than 30 years as a pattern maker and currently co-managed For Olde Times Sake Antiques in North East.
He was a former Cub Master for Pack 155 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in North East, where he formerly served as a trustee and usher.
Mr. Beardsley enjoyed woodworking and dealing antiques.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty DiOrazio; a granddaughter, Natalie A. Beardsley; and a step-father, Ernest Brockman.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Grabowski Beardsley, whom he married 59 years ago on Sept. 10, 1953; his daughter, Debra (Debbie) Meehl (Roger) of North East and his sons, William K. Beardsley Jr. (Joyce), Richard Beardsley, David Beardsley (Lori), Jeffrey Beardsley and Brian Beardsley (Amy) all of North East, and Kevin Beardsley (Ann) of Clearfield.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Ann Marie, Jordan, Justin, Jaleen, Jeff Jr., Scott, Kyle, Eric, April, Rachael, Seth, Nicholas, Nolan and Neil; his six great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Jack DiOrazio of North East; his uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Waldo officiating. Burial will be in the North East Cemetery.
